No more unlinking

The “unlink” button was initially designed to give you the freedom to delete your accidental mistakes (oops!). This blue button has resulted in some confusion as well as the ability to accidentally unlink locations from outside your organisation. You will no longer be able to remove any Trial Locations from a trial once it’s been added so please double-check when you’re adding locations, and to close a trial please use the “Closed” status. Closed trials do not appear on the app. Of course, if you make a mistake or realise that there is a mistake in the database then please notify Customer Service at admin@clintrialreferapp.com and we can easily have the location removed for you.

Reducing duplicates

We have now commenced monthly system scans to look for duplicate trial entries, using matches in the Scientific Title. This has already resulted in 11 trial duplicates being identified.

As you may be aware, trials can currently be entered into the system as two entries under their NCT and ACTRN numbers. We continue to request that where available you please enter the trial with the NCT registration number (if you aren’t sure, you can search for your trial at http://www.clinicaltrials.gov to check for registration).

Where duplicates are identified, we will be moving the Trial Locations across to the NCT entry and deleting the duplicate ACTRN entry. If these trials are within your discipline, you will receive notification in our monthly duplicates emails.

As usual, thank you for your diligent attention to data integrity!

Changes to Enrolment Type

ClinTrial Refer now has a number of non-hospital and non-drug trials being added to the app. Many of our partners are now conducting valuable research out in the community, and the “Enrolment Type” field has been updated to reflect their increasing push for healthy volunteers, self-referrals and GPs.

This field is still mandatory, however you are able to select one or more from: “By Self-Referral”, “By Specialist and/or Surgeon Referral”, and “Primary Care or GP Referral”.
